Getting vinyl houses to stay flat

Getting vinyl houses to stay flat

Our club purchased and used vinyl houses last year at our bonspiel which is played on arena ice, and had water pooling underneath them and bubbling up.
Does anyone have some tips/ideas on how to install vinyl houses and keep them flat?
We wondered if they were warm when we put them in, if that would help, we thought of using electric blankets to warm them up?

We used to have those vinyl houses, and white sheets too.
They were such a wrinkled mess after a few years that we went to paint.
Never did find a way to make then actually look good.
Have you thought about the newer mesh type circles? Being porus they would probably be easier to work with since you can flatten them and seal them down with a paint roller & water. Can't say. I haven't tried them.

Would you have a source for house's made with the mesh material. I have seen it used in hockey arenas and they go down pretty slick. I would love to have them for our facility.

I have no idea whether they are any good or not. I've never used them, but they sound like they might work well enough.

Try putting them in warm water before you put them down and you have to be really patient and use a brush or paint roller and get them flat. Between seasons we put ours between sheets of plywood and they are as flat as can be.

Buy a powered scriber from Canada Curling Stone, and switch back to paint.

Painting is a lot less effort, and looks much better once in.
